LAURA BRYNA’S FIRST BLOG FOR URBAN DARLING

01/19/10
Urban Darling welcomes Laura Bryna to the fashion blogging team! We are stoked to have her guest blog for us. (Giving you a fist bump – did you feel it?)
Happy New Year Everybody! I’m Laura Bryna from Mount Airy, Maryland – a recording artist, actress, television host, but most of all a girlie girl to the enth degree. I am a total fashion nut who is always looking for fun, funky things to add to my wardrobe, makeup drawers, and hair paraphernalia. Girlieness, if that’s a word, has always been in my blood.
My mom, who is my whole life, went to school for fashion merchandising, so really, I believe, I’ve learned from the best. Growing up I used to watch her put on her makeup and then came the big question, “what should I wear today?” That’s where the illness began for me!
Mom used to do makeup for all the Barbizon models in the Maryland and D.C. area so, needless to say, I learned a lot by watching her every move. I started by playing with colors, textures, animal prints, glitter, and anything I could imagine or get my hands on. As an entertainer, my mom/stylist and I came up with my funky chic look, and this is where my love affair with Roberto Cavalli started. Nobody says fabulous and funky like that man. God love him. Oh, and I’m totally okay with being his daughter, just thought I’d share!
So, it all started with mom and then I began to watch the various makeup artists and hairdressers who do my hair and makeup for events, interviews, photo shoots and the like – and finally I realized my “illness” for all things girlie had spread. And guess what?,…there ain’t no cure! Thank god for that and a big amen to the estrogen fest!
In this fashion journey with Urban Darling, I’m going to share my fabulous findings with you, as well as little tips I have acquired along the way. ’Cause you know us girls, we gotta stick together!
All the Best!
Love,
Laura
