Recently, I had the pleasure of, once again, speaking with international recording artist Laura Bryna. At about five feet tall and 100 lbs, Laura packs a ton of energy into a small package. Her debut album, “Trying to Be Me,” launched in 2008, and received public and critical acclaim. Since then, the singer has become the spokesperson for the Air National Guard ad campaign, and was named a celebrity spokesperson for the National Guard Youth Foundation. Whether on stage performing, giving back to the community or Military, this petite performer always looks great. We found out how she does it!

Follow up:

LC: When do you feel most beautiful?
LB: I feel most beautiful when I have on a fabulous outfit by one of my favorite designers, hair done, high heel boots on, and my makeup just right - with lots of eye glitter. With these elements in place, I feel ready to go out for an evening or walk on stage and perform. I love to dress up!
LC: Are you as beautiful as you want to be?
LB: I think we all have our own insecurities that probably change from day to day depending on our mood. Fortunately, I mostly feel comfortable with who I am, and as much as I value beauty and fashion, I think much of my feeling good about my outside comes from feeling good on the inside. I also think a smile says it all, and has the ability to light up a person’s face and make those around them feel connected. Happiness is contagious. So my motto is ‘go ahead and be infectious.’
LC: How important is it to look your best at all times?
LB: It’s actually very important to me to feel good about how I’ve put myself together. When I feel my best, I carry myself differently. I think many people will agree that looking good helps to bring out a confidence that others can see. The glow or vibe one exudes draws people in and they want to be part of what you are feeling. This then adds to a feeling of confidence. It's a wonderful circle that, for me, starts with trying to look good.
LC: What is your inspiration behind your looks?
LB: I love things that are different, fun and funky. Clothing-wise, I'm a huge Roberto Cavalli fan, and have also become a devotee of the designers The Blonds. I love to push the edge with fashion, makeup, music and pretty much everyday life. If it's got a certain attitude, then I'm all over it.
LC: Do you think plastic surgery is an option for those less fortunate in the looks department?
LB: As far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with a little Nip, Tuck. If Cosmetic Surgery makes someone feel better about themselves or their life, then I'm all for it. However, everyone should be made aware that there are always risks that come with any medical procedure and that should always be taken into consideration.
LC: Have you always been a brunette?
LB: Ever since I was born.
LC: How do you describe sex ppeal?
LB: To me sex appeal is all about how one carries them self. One can make an average outfit or an average day come to life by the way they project themselves. I think if you hold your chin up, shoulders back, add heels, glitter and a smile there will be sex appeal to spare.
LC: In your opinion, what gives an outfit, or any look, flair?
LB: Most of the things I've already talked about can add some pizzazz. Also, color. To me a bold color adds flair. It doesn't have to be all colorful. Adding one bright piece to a plain black or white outfit can give it that extra something. I also like to add "leopard" print to things to make an outfit stand out. And to prove I mean business, I even have a leopard umbrella and, largely because of that fashion item, I don’t mind the rain one bit.
